Jordan Tour

Basic travel information

Known for its ancient history and Arab culture, Jordan also hides breathtaking scenery within its borders. The mysterious, stone-carved city of Petra, the shores of the Dead Sea, the ancient fortifications of the Crusaders, and the sandstone mountains adorning the desert of Wadi Rum lead us through the centuries-old history of the Middle East.

A tour of Jordan will allow you to experience the magnificent surroundings and fine historical sights of this small and peaceful Arab country at your fingertips. We hiked on the way to the Wadi Rum desert and got to know the traditional Bedouin nomadic culture. The rugged beautiful landscape hosts a friendly and inviting kingdom in the heart of the Middle East.

Preparation:

There are no actual fitness requirements for our tours. However, it is good to note that the Jordan tour program includes long walks in Wadi Rum and Petra. We recommend that you go for regular walks, for example, because the better your physical condition, the more you enjoy the excursions.

Country information:

Jordan needs a visa , which participants in group travel receive free of charge. Alternatively, a visa can be purchased at the airport upon arrival in the country. The Jordan single entry visa currently costs 40JOD (= approx. 54 €).

For group visas, we need a photo / copy of your passport’s personal information page. You can send us a copy after booking the trip by e-mail (eg as a jpg or pdf file) or by post to our office.

You need normal travel insurance for your trip. We recommend taking out travel insurance with cancellation protection.

The official language of Jordan is Arabic. English is fairly widely spoken in the country, and signage, for example, is usually also in English.

The Jordanian currency is the Jordanian Dinar (JOD). Dinars can be exchanged before the trip via Forex, picked up from an automatic credit card or exchanged at the airport for a visa fee. The euro exchange rate is better outside the airport. The US dollar is also used in some places as a means of payment in hotels, shops and restaurants frequented by tourists.

Climate

Jordan has a predominantly dry desert climate. In the western part of the country there is some rainfall during the winter season, when daytime temperatures also drop below 20 ° C in some places, and at night it can be very cool. Summers are dry and hot throughout the country until October.
